I’ve been trying to perfect my whipped butter consistency for a while now and I finally think I’ve got it.
Just a few days ago I decided that I’ll try my hand at two whipped butter recipes. I wanted one to be a fluffy butter and the other to be a really buttery one. While browsing Youtube for some tutorials to see if I could see a similar technique in each video that creates the light texture that makes whipped butters so great.
I came across a video by Holistic Lifestyle blogger Hey Fran Hey and Tech/Beauty/Fashion/Lifestyle vlogger Shameless Maya. Fran and Maya were making a body butter for dry skin for winter and Fran was explaining to Maya that if you want your butter to be fluffy you use more oils and if you want it to be buttery you use more butter.
I also re-watched a video by India of MyNaturalSistas on making a whipped coconut oil treatment for dry hair in order to get an idea of the technique for a fluffy butter.
My goal was to achieve the results I wanted using not many ingredients.
So for my Fluffy Butter I used:
4 tablespoons of Coconut Oil
1 tablespoon of Apricot Oil
1 tablespoon of Jojoba Oil
1 tablespoon of Argan Oil
2 teaspoons of Shea Oil
I simply whisked all of the ingredients together to create this fluffy, cake frosting textured body butter
Then for my Buttery Whipped Cream I used:
3 teaspoons of Cocoa Butter which i melted on a double boiler along with 4 tablespoons of Shea Butter. Once completely melted I let it cool down a little. Then I added 3 tablespoons of Avocado Butter, 1 tablespoon of Almond Oil and 1 tablespoon of Castor Oil. I whisked all the ingredients together until it was a buttery consistency.
I put 10 drops each of Mandarin Essential Oil and Orange Essential Oil in both blends for fragrance.
I love how they both melt on the skin. I will also be using the butters on my hair to see if they’re as good on my hair as they have been on my body.
